Reimagining a Data-Rich Digital Ecosystem for an Education Policy Leader
Work
Meals on Wheels America is the leadership organization supporting over 5,000 community-based programs across the country working to address senior hunger and isolation. Through funding, programming, education, research, and advocacy, they provide local organizations with the resources they need to strengthen their communities one senior at a time.
While meals are a core offering, the mission goes beyond food, focusing on social connection, safety, and ensuring successful aging for homebound seniors. To support new advocacy efforts, expanded research, and an updated content strategy, the organization needed a website that could grow with its evolving work.
Teal partnered with the Meals on Wheels America team to create both a public-facing site and a member-facing site. The new public site educates and inspires prospective donors, helps seniors and caregivers easily find local providers and services, and positions the organization as an integral partner in the healthcare space.
By leveraging the shared design system and the Distributor plugin for shared content distribution, the member site delivers a consistent user experience while also addressing the unique needs of affiliated programs. It features member-specific resources such as grant opportunities, advocacy toolkits, and marketing materials—empowering programs to serve more effectively.
The website plays an important role in demonstrating Meals on Wheels America’s mission to help older adults live healthier, more connected lives. It features a strong focus on storytelling, highlighting both seniors and volunteers—and the meaningful impact Meals on Wheels has on everyone involved. A variety of design components are used throughout the site to support these visual and engaging stories.
