Nuclear Scaling Initiative

Accelerating the secure, scalable deployment of nuclear energy worldwide

The Brief

Nuclear energy is one of the few technologies that can deliver reliable, clean power at the scale the world needs. But in practice, deployment has been slow, expensive, and fragmented because of one-off reactor builds, inconsistent regulations across countries, financing hurdles, coordination gaps, and misalignment between governments, industry, and investors.

The Nuclear Scaling Initiative (NSI), founded by Clean Air Task Force, EFI Foundation, and Nuclear Threat Initiative, was created to change that. Bringing together leaders in climate, energy, and security, NSI works to transform how nuclear energy is deployed globally.

The Platform

In close collaboration with the NSI team, Teal Media led the design and development of a new website that more clearly positions the organization as a catalyst for accelerating the secure and economical scale-up of nuclear energy worldwide.

A key feature of the site is the Reactor Selection Tool (RST), which is an interactive, objective comparison platform that allows users to evaluate reactor designs side by side based on core scaling criteria such as deployability, security, and economics. Rather than endorsing specific technologies, the tool helps utilities, governments, investors, and other decision-makers navigate a complex marketplace and make informed, data-driven choices.
