Everytown for
Gun Safety

For over 4 years, Teal Media has served as a creative partner to Everytown for Gun Safety, a movement of Americans working together to end gun violence and build safer communities. Everytown’s unique mission means they have to be prepared to respond when tragedy strikes. Simultaneously, they are building a nationwide movement to end gun violence and need a long-term strategy to engage supporters and build momentum for change. Our ongoing partnership with Everytown means we are ready to respond at a moment’s notice, but are always focused on our long term goal to end gun violence.

Smart and Strategic Rapid Response in a Crisis

Unfortunately, stories of gun violence are in the news on a regular basis. When these events happen, Everytown needs to respond quickly to raise awareness, educate the public, and encourage supporters to take action. And yet, other important work must continue in the background in order to win the long-term fight to make our communities safer. Everytown knows they can count on Teal to get the job done. We’ve established a “rapid response” relationship with Everytown, which allows us to collaborate, conceptualize and produce the appropriate response – often times at a moment’s notice. Whether it’s creating a visually-engaging social graphic, an animated video, an action-driven microsite, or an interactive data map, Teal is on-hand to ensure that Everytown has everything they need to be successful.

The powerful “Not One More” rapid response campaign was based on a call to action by Richard Martinez, whose son Christopher was shot in the mass shooting at UC Santa Barbara. Putting the focus on this father’s stirring and straightforward call to end the violence, Teal Media designed a variety of materials to support Everytown’s efforts, including postcards that Everytown mailed to members of Congress on behalf of individual Americans pledging to support candidates who fight for common sense laws to reduce gun violence.

Social graphics appear in various social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, and Vine, and elicit thousands of reactions and shares.

Teal Media brings Everytown graphics to life by creating videos and animations that appear on different social media channels.

Microsites include map pages for Everytown's research site, as well as one-off campaigns such as Oregonians for Background Checks.

In addition to our digital rapid response work, we also collaborate with Everytown on long-term advocacy and education efforts. Together, we’ve developed in-depth professionally-printed reports, long-form infographics, conference booth designs, direct mail pieces, bumper stickers, t-shirt designs, and more. We aim for the utmost consistency, clarity, and quality in what we produce — this commitment has helped Everytown achieve tremendous brand awareness and trust from its audience.
